Better Intimacy with Effective Communication on The Terri Cole ShowI’m so excited that you’re joining me on today’s show!

I’m in the throws of finishing up the manuscript for my first book, so today’s show is actually one of my best trainings from a Terri Cole Show Live where I talk about effective communication to create better intimacy.

Today, I do a live Q & A and answer questions from the audience like how to communicate in moments of difficulty in relationships.

  1. Hey Terri ! I have listened to this episode multiple times since it’s so helpful, thank you truly for this. I have a question about a close best friend of mine. Sometimes when there’s a minor issue I don’t usually communicate it and I’m aware that this is something I need and I’m trying to work on. This friend noticed changes in my behavior and usually asks me quite aggressively if there is a problem (which makes me feel very unsafe to open up) and i do respond that I’m feeling quite sad about something in the friendship, but I feel like the conversation completely turns on how wrong my behavior was (which it is unfortunately) and there is so much victimization from that friend happening during the conversation which caused so much blaming especially from the past. i am finding quite hard to deal with it and I have apologized multiple times respectfully. I’m starting to feel very upset from that friend’s behavior and cannot deal with it anymore and I feel very extremely drained for each conversation. This has been going on for weeks and this friend was really close to me, and this also happens in each inconvenience. So what can I do to better this situation? And is this reaction normal?

    1. Hi there,
Thank you for sharing and for being here! It sounds like further boundaries are needed. In order for your friend to take a step back and understand where you’re coming from, I think it would be helpful to express how you’re feeling and let them know what you want from the relationship and what you cannot accept (boundaries). I’m holding space for you with so much compassion as you navigate this relationship ❤️
