If you dread November and December every year, don’t worry, you’re not alone. Around this time of year, there are higher than normal family expectations and obligations which can equal stress, pain, and anxiety for so many people. And even when you enjoy spending time with your family, the holidays can remind us of those we’ve lost. Among all the cooking, hiking and eating with my family this Thanksgiving, there was a sadness present as my niece, Lauren, was not there with us. Lauren died in a car accident earlier this year and my family is still mourning and figuring out how to be us without her.

So today I’m sharing with you 6 ideas to help you have a more festive holiday season. Take a moment, right now, to decide how you want to feel this holiday season, instead of just letting it happen to you. I want to help you do more then just get through. Taking care of your own needs and desires while honoring exactly how you feel (regardless of how others might want you to feel) is a good start. Listen now to hear how you can make this holiday season what you need it to be.
