  1. Hi Terri,

I just started listening to your podcast and currently listening to your latest book “Too Much”! I think you’re amazing and appreciate all of your insight and suggestions.

I’m a recovering HFC and pessimist and working through some childhood trauma. I’m trying so hard to practice gratitude every day but am finding it difficult. My aging father recently moved in with my family and needs minor care, but he is soooo negative that he’s sucking all the positivity out of the house and making my gratitude practice seemingly impossible.

What would you suggest to help me to stay my gratitude practice course and preventing my persistently pessimist father from affecting me and my family.

Thank you for all you do and I’m so grateful I found you!

    1. Well hello Laurie, so glad to have you here! I hope you’re enjoying Too Much. 💕 I suggest taking space from your father and when you are meditating, try to visualize your responses to his negativity. Perhaps you leave the room, or you imagine his words flowing over you like water, rather than sticking to you. His negativity doesn’t need to change your positive or grateful thoughts, especially if you are able to take time and space away from him while filling yourself with gratitude!
