Are you lit up by what you do for a living?

Do you love it?

If the answer is no, then why are you in this line of work and how can you move into something you want to do that does light you up?

The family culture you grew up in influences your perception of how fulfilling working can and should be.

Did your parents or care givers believe working can and should be simultaneously fulfilling and satisfying?

Do you believe that your Dharma or purpose in life can also provide enough money to afford a beautiful roof over your head and a pair of Jimmy Choos or two?

Start by asking yourself a few questions:

    • What brings you joy?
Would you do this job for free?
What do you do in your spare time?

Figure out where your true interests lie and start to do more of that, even on a volunteer basis or as a hobby to start. The Universe will respond to the power of your intention and desire with Sychronistic events and meaningful coincidences. How can the universe do it’s thing if you don’t put it out there? As always I am interested to hear how this resonates with you and what you do about it!

Have an amazing week and as always take care of you.

  1. We dont have a choice on our package deal in this life. We shalt be what we have to be. A wee bit of effort in tweaking the mind is required for us to see it the way God wants us to see it without stress but as a necessry passing phase. Live every moment of largesse to the hilt with empathy and love. Face every storm that be with human intellect and logic and not with animalistic reactive fear. God’s path will open out and at the time of reckoning ya shalt go with happiness into the LIGHT.The key is control of your mind with acceptance, faith and duty. God bless you

    1. I agree completely about controlling and conquering your FEAR mind. Present moment awareness was the key for me and yet it is an on going process!

  2. Amazing vblog Terri. It’s truly resonating with me. Lately every tweet/blog/facebook status update is speaking to me about living my life on purpose. I have long ago identified I’m not loving what I do in the corporate world. My soul has been tugging at me to take a leap of faith, so I’m going through the stages of denial, fear, resisting, proscrastinating. I recognize I’m at a the gateway towards big changes. So, thank you for being an inspiration.

    1. Andrea-
Your awareness of what is happening will lead you to the right place. In transitioning this last year out of a very successful private practice into this bigger platform I was so scared at the thought I would just burst into tears for so many reasons FEAR being the biggest. When I made the decision and got dialed into my truth that that cosmically it is all ok now and evermore things started shifting and happening -all telling me I was going in the right direction for my purpose. It has been and still is a humbling yet super exciting time.
Honor your truth and it will lead you to the right place my dear

  3. I found out what truly motivates me! Now I am working on developing the talents and skills it take to make a living helping others to see how marvelous they are and what living a self evident life means.

To live a life of purpose, just need to put the pieces of the puzzle together so that I can live life with purpose and passion serving others while providing for my family.

    Thank you!

  4. Another great tip! I love my job and my life. I had some jobs I didn’t love as I worked my way here, but it was well worth it–the good things always are. I think it’s important to always re-evaluate where you are and where you want to be. For me, that’s taking on new challenges.

    Thanks for positive posts. 🙂

    1. Hey Michelle-
I agree and firmly believe that EVERYTHING that happens in our lives had to happen for us to be where we are at this very moment. No REGRETS NO FEAR-strap in and get ready for the adventure, right?

  5. Great video Terri! It’s got me thinking about what i expect from work or hope to get from work, and the ideas i’ve inherited from my family/peers etc. Time to turbo charge things and raise my expectations! xo

    1. Thanks Sarah!
Yes to creating your own expectations for sure. Sometimes differentiating from our parents choices is difficult on an unconscious level. I remember Vic, my husband telling me that he made more money his first year out of art school than his Dad had made in his career in a factory and how bad that made him feel. For some that feeling bad would be the decider to not do it. Some family cultures will straight up reject you if you don’t fall in line with their norms. I am so glad the little video inspired you. You can do or be anything 😉
