Let’s start our week on a high note by setting an intention to be grateful. To start you off, let’s take less than two minutes right now for a gratitude break.

Take a seat, gently close your eyes, and begin to breathe deeply. Start to think about all of the things that are right in your life right now.

Let’s start with your physical body. Be grateful for your eyes, and all they allow you to see. For your nose—all you get to smell. For your mouth—all it allows you to taste and who you get to kiss. Go down your entire body, and be grateful for how it carries you around. How your feet do everything you ask of them. How much work you do with your hands. Give thanks to your healthy body right now.

Think about all the people in your life—your relationships, your heroes, your champions, the people who always have your back and unconditionally support you and your dreams. Feel the feeling, in the center of your chest, of gratitude for them being in your life.

Think about the experiences you have had—a vacation, a trip, a job you love. Feel the feeling of graciousness in your heart.

Take two deep, releasing breaths. Carry this feeling with you throughout the rest of the day, the week…your entire life.

When Challenges Arise

Oftentimes, when we are ill or going through a break up or other difficult time in our life, we can lose sight of what is right because what is “wrong” seems so overwhelming and time-consuming. Release the fear and draw your attention to what is good, whatever it is. Maybe it’s having internet access so you can research treatment options online. Maybe it’s the food on your table, the friend, the opportunity to find a job that fulfills you more. Whatever it is, find those people and things that add value to your life and be grateful.

As many of you have read, my sister Tammi has liver cancer. It is during this time that she is focusing on all the parts of her body that are healthy and on her family and friends who are raising money and awareness and sitting by her side, listening to her worries and fears while holding space for her healing.

Personally, I am grateful to have not only one, but three sisters. I am grateful for my health and that, on Tuesday, Tammi and I are both getting testing done to see if I can be a living donor for her. I am grateful to all of you, who read my posts and watch my videos. Who send positive energy out into the world. Who offer kind words and support to my family, me, and others around you, whether they are friends, family, or complete strangers. I thank you for being right here, right now.

  1. I’m thankful for finding this website and being introduced by my doctor to meditation and mindfullness therapy. I suffer from anxiety and depression and all this has helped to bring my mind back from negative thoughts and feelings. I have a wonderful husband, son and best friend who are always there for me and never in judgement and for that I am truly blessed. Again, thank you and keep sending the messages:)

    What a beautiful family. As a Mom, I know how important it is to get with your children. I would love to have a sister but am grateful for my two grown sons and husband. I am also grateful for Unity Chapel of Light and my friends who share with each other, who really care about each other. My life is full of wonderful, kind loving people. Thank you God.
