Um really…MTV’s “JERSEY SHORE” posse? Really, are you people really from New Jersey? The beautiful Garden State? My beloved home state? Um you’re really not actually…most of you are from Staten Island or the Bronx. So let’s clarify that this frightening piece of crap show, designed for the lowest common denominator, is only SET down the Jersey Shore and that the participants, all but one, are NOT even from New Jersey. If the show was called MOST OBVIOUS OFFENSIVE ITALIAN STEREOTYPES GET A SHARE DOWN THE JERSEY SHORE it would be much more accurate. Um really…”Guido is a lifestyle not a slur.”…wow… MTV…really?

Dear Terri,

I have a close friend who invited me to a jewelry party at her house. At the time I told her I was unsure if I would be able to make it. The day of the party I sent her a txt saying I was sorry but could not attend. When I reached out to her 2 weeks later to make lunch plans she did not respond. I emailed and again no response. Can you shed light on her reaction? I am trying not to take it personally and I love her but I so don’t need this stress in my friendships.

Dear Confused,

I think texting an invite rejection may be part of her issue as some people find it offensive. The only way to really shed light on her reaction is to know more about her life and since I don’t we can only focus on you. Right now it seems she needs time and space and I agree her reaction seems like transference to something else. If the friendship is worth it, be patient and reach out again holding her in a loving space in your mind and heart.
